We did a little more shopping online,ever seeking the new and the different, and discovered a mixed group of stores selling party supplies as well as costumes. http://www.parties.com The first two stores, Party City and Party America, have brick and mortar stores where you can inspect before you buy. Pinatas.com has the pinatas made just for them and you can have one made especially for your party if you give them sufficient lead time.
One observation, if you are concerned with budget as are many of us these days, begin with black tights or black slacks and develop your thought from that image. It is surprising what you can put together from the closets of family members. You probably know a few people who have scrubs too. I don’t remember that we ever spent more than a few dollars (that’s less than $10.00) in total for the kids in any season. Begin early. You may want to buy the props or a half mask at parties and concept around that. Halloween shouldn’t be a chore – it should be fun, fun, fun.

They have lots of accessories but no links from the costumes. Alas, there is no washability info even in infants and toddlers. While that would be nice to know online, you can read it on the costume info at the store. Click on the magnifying glass for the sizing, a larger pic and zip code availability. While there is no wish list, you can email to yourself, friend.
If you are into masks, there is a colorful assortment of feather masks and an enormous allotment of full face masks but no narrative about the material of the mask or the sizing.While there are only five venetian masks, two have feathers.
One last thing for those concerned about online security; this is not a McAfee green site.

This is another top 10 type site to attend you. Here you will secure a huge selection with product information, especially in the mask section.
You can order online (free shipping with $40.00 minimum costume purchase.) Check the most local store for in-stock availability. There are stores located in 46 of the 50 states but not necessarily using the staunch name: Party America. They have no stores in Alaska, Hawaii, Modern Mexico or Maine. Fair check the online store locator for the location and name of the nearest store.
At the website you will find that when you click on the costume title, all available accessories will be on that page which is where you need it to be. Costume fabric may not be listed for many adult costumes adults but seems to be thorough for toddlers. However, to get to the fabric info you must click both the costume and then the specific listing with the accessories.
Here’s a random sampling of Toddler Girls: Princess Leia, Wonder Woman, Snow White, Belle, Tinker Bell, Ariel/Mermaid, Care Bears, Abby Caddaby, Dora the Explorer, Dorothy, Little Riding Hood, Madeline, Raggedy Ann, Bratz Cat, Witches, Cats, Pirates and Angels ranging from 16.99 to 29.99. For boys you will eye several pirate costumes with boot tops in the accessories section and a large selection of the most popular costumes at reasonable prices.
Lots of inflatable costumes for men. Popeye is listed under Men’s Funny Costumes but not with Olive Oyl in the Couples section. Who knew?
Nice Pet costumes especially if your dog walks on 2 legs most of the time. 7.99 to 16.99. Oops, update on that, I fell for the optical illusion.
In Accessories they do have an Ears & Tails category but it is limited to Leopard, Sexy Bunny, Cat and Mickey-Minnie Mouse. That was a disappointment. But this is a party supply store, not a costume store. Sorry, only one pair of bat wings and no Count Dracula cape.
Quite a few hats, crowns and helmets including a viking helmet, roman wreath, spartan helmet, flying nun style in polyfoam, child’s residence helmet, Freddy Krueger, Indiana Jones (includes the whip,) top hats and various cowgirl hats.
One other helpful section is Themed Accessories. Just follow left column of 31 themes and you should come by your theme. Cross referencing shortens your shopping time as does the Understanding All option.
For party decorations you can shop by theme, color or occasion.

The front page of the Costume section lists the categories and a variety of choices under all but toddlers and pets.
Good luck getting your cat to wear those red ears. But no question, there are more pet costumes and hats here with a broader variety of themes than we have seen before. all right already, I get it: Fideaux isn’t standing on his/her hind legs. You are dressing the front of the dog in some skirted costumes. There are doggie wigs and even saddles. Don’t smoke around the Fido fireman, that fire extinguisher is only for play. Buy the Santa, Elf or Uncle Sam costume and you have a holiday 2fer. Gargantuan section – Check it out!
Adult Men also includes Teen Boys so don’t expect anything raunchy. The models are sexy though. There are many costumes being shown with the expected Starwars Clone Trooper, Anakin Skywalker, Batman and Geppetto in the Mens section not seen or at least not noticed before. The Scottish Kilt costume at 94.99 and 86.99, two Lederhosen outfits, Mountie, gondolier, the Wizard of Oz Scarecrow, Munchkin Mayor and the Emerald City Guard, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Van Helsing, Peter Pan and Sherlock Holmes (with the deerstalker but find your own calabash pipe,) . There are several you can put together from your closet or a friends but purchase a gaze for ideas. This is the most comprehensive Mens section yet.
The Adult Chewbacca Collector’s Edition is $449.99 and looks colossal from here.
Some of the children’s costumes are shown with both a description tab and a care tab. This is very helpful because you need to know if you need to nag about keeping the costume clean for a younger sibling or eBaying or whether you can spot clean or actually launder.
Figure that the washer is not in the picture for most of these materials.
Halloween or not, we just had to check the Pinata section. You won’t bear what we found: a 30′ x 10′ high dolphin pinata custom made by Senor Vincente Ramirez, a Master Pinata maker. If you want a custom pinata of whatever allow a few weeks and remember, no licensed characters to infringe on licensing rights. They have plenty of Halloween party pinatas. A purple faced witch 24″x18″x4.5″ is 14.99 and ships for 3.50 the next business day. Remember that filler is extra as is the blindfold, the buster bat and the pull ribbon conversion kit. There are plenty of instructions for filling your occupy and playing the pinata game. Huge Section covering many holidays.
This store really offers some unique opportunities.
Party Supplies Hut
Here’s a potentially delightful sight. On the home page you can find current party trends based upon the current holiday. Hottest adult and Kid’s costumes, a list of Halloween Party items: supplies, world records, history, party ideas, games, decorations, menus, word search, and Educational Halloween Party. And seriously, lots more stuff.
Be warned, this is not an easy site to navigate. The navigation is not as expected. But they were quick to retort with great information shortly after I sent an email of concern at not being able to access Harry Potter from the “click here” area. I’m sure the problem will have been corrected by the time you get there.
These costumes are cute, All-American but not inexpensive. Toddler boys: 37.95 to 52.15 with one at 17.55 and one at 57.15. All other costumes are similar in price. Some include wigs, most do not.
What you will find is a broader selection of sizes. And that can be important if you have your heart set on a particular costume. Although material and fabric care are not given, there is an advisory to read the instructions with the costumes. I would prefer to know that before I buy.
